Occasionally, when I'm using File Explorer (XP Pro SP3), something caused the screen attached below to appear. This is obviously something to do with my Acronis backup software, but I have not set up a schedule to use it on this machine. When I look at Task Manager, I do not see an Acronis application nor do I see any process that I can identify with Acronis.
It seems to happen only when I'm using File Explorer. Killing the app in Task Manager kills File Explorer.
Can anyone suggest a reason why this might be occurring?

And I'm in worse shape as I don't know what "File Explorer" is.

I think that File Explorer is the application that was more recently called Windows Explorer.Bigaldoc wrote:And I'm in worse shape as I don't know what "File Explorer" is.

Senility is setting in upon me again!
I forgot to attach the screenshot and didn't realize that File Explorer was an obsolete term.
Sorry, folks!

Bob,
I see a screenshot like that if I try to open an Acronis incremental or differential backup file by double clicking on it.
I get the same result if I expand the folder in the left pane of Windows explorer and single click on one of the backup files in that pane.

Re: PopUp Occurring???
Ah! I think you might be onto something Stuart!
I was running a (ahem!) Windows Explorer search for files of type .jpg. There is an Acronis backup on one of the hard drives I was searching. Perhaps, the Explorer search looked into the archive and found some .jpg files there and launched that message.
I can think of nothing else that I was doing that would have touched an Acronis archive.

Re: PopUp Occurring???
I just tried searching for filename:*.jpg on a drive that has lots of Acronis image files stored, and it didn't generate this message, or find any of the files inside the backups.
