(UK) Old phone disposal
I've found an old, 3G only, 'smartphone' in a drawer. What's the best way to dispose of this and what actions do I need to take before it's disposed of, please?
Thanks

If it still works at all then I would do a factory reset to clear all my personal data, and then take it to the council recycling depot where they have a skip for e-Waste

What Stuart suggested, but why take it to the tip?silverback wrote: ↑15 Jul 2023, 10:48I've found an old, 3G only, 'smartphone' in a drawer. What's the best way to dispose of this and what actions do I need to take before it's disposed of, please?
A women's or man's shelter probably houses someone who could use a telephone, even an old one. no?

Well Done that man!
I guess that if it dates from before the year dot, then it must surely date before the years dot-com?

If I knew what a Stellerium was, I'd be able definitively to say: No.
With my present state of ignorance, the answer would be: Not in my lifetime...
