Somehow, I managed to protect my electricity usage workBOOK with a password that I don't remember. I'm sure I fat fingered something, but no matter how many combinations of spelling the password that I use - and have stored so I can copy and paste it - I cannot un-protect it.
If you have a better recovery strategy than mine, please tell me. My strategy is to create a new workbook for the data and to copy each workSHEET from the protected workBOOK and paste it into the new one. There are a few dozen months of worksheet data. The process is quite tedious because I have to use Special Copy to preserve the formats, formulas and values for each.
Any help shall be greatly appreciated and gratefully received.

Re: Shot Myself in the Foot
Is it a .xls workbook, or a .xlsx/.xlsb/.xlsm workbook?
Best wishes,
