Not sure when this started happening but I can't figure out how to fix it. When I click on an email link in a newsletter or any other email sent to me I get what you see in the attachment. I have tried to drill down to choose Outlook in Program Files folder under Office 16. All I find is what is shown in the second attachment. How can I make Outlook the default program to open when I click on an email address? Thanks

You'll find Outlook.exe in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16

I don't have it in either of the Program Files or Program Files (86) folders. I wonder if I need to run a repair on Office and if so, how do I do that?

@DaveA: That depends on whether you have 32-bit Office or 64-bit Office.
HLewton's screenshot clearly shows Microsoft Office under Program Files.

Re: Clicking On An Email Address In A Newsletter
Sorry about that. I did find it and I did run a repair. Mine must be 64 Bit because it was under the Program Folder. Please see the first attachment below and see that I managed to get Outlook.exe to be there and clicked the always use this option. However, I get the error you can see in the second attachment and it opens Outlook but not so I can send an email to the link I clicked on. I have clicked both Yes and No but it still does not open an email for me. Any ideas?

I'm sorry, I have no idea how to solve that error. Perhaps use Gmail instead?
Best wishes,

Re: Clicking On An Email Address In A Newsletter
Microsoft Support fixed it. In default apps she searched for MAILTO. It was set to FireFox. She changed that to Outlook and it appears to be working as it should.
