Re: A snowy scene
It's very different from the scorched earth which I had imagined Bonavista to be...

Re: A snowy scene
Quite snow! This is "scorched earth" policy as practiced in Bonavista.
Guy uses snow blower for three hours (no kidding!) to clear the 15" of snow off his lawn, right down to the grass, so he has space to park his van/car/truck etc.
Of course exposing the grass this early in the season means the grass will be frost-burned - so next summer, lazy-guy doesn't have to spend as much time mowing grass from his "parking lot".
Cheers
Chris

Re: A snowy scene
For those who remember better times, there is always
Andrew Skeoch's set of sixteen tracks of birdsong.
I knew this area in my youth. One year I spent six days cycling Perth-Augusta-Nannup-Donnybrook-Collie-Perth.
Woke one morning outside Donnybrook and just lay in my blanket, for an hour listening to the birds.
Sigh!
If you listen closely you can hear a blowfly patrol past the microphone every two minutes.
I know that blowfly. It pestered me all the way to Gwindinup.
The sharp line that runs down the centre of the map, dividing the two shades of green, is the edge of the Darling Escarpment.
Cheers
