Dear All,
I wanted to create a scatter chart in my power point, so in my power point i have one table consist of Year and Amount where all the amount are appear in Dollar Sign so i click on Insert Chart (Scatter chart) then i go to manually copy the data in the table to be input to the chart excel sheet but the problem is when there is a dollar sign the chart unable to track the amount thus all amount appear as 0. Is there any short cut where a table can directly convert to chart and how to solve the dollar sign problem.

I'd create the table and chart in Excel, and paste them into PowerPoint as links. You can format the cells in Excel.
Best wishes,

Hi Hans,
Thanks for the reply. I have tried it but in the excel part the currency i go to format cell-custom-"$"#,##0_);[Red]("$"#,##0) but it also fail to sum the amount as the Dollar sign causes the problem.

Re: Dollar Sign Caused Chart No Data
You should enter the values without a $ sign. Excel will display the $ automatically.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
