Re: Whatsapp
The article says that WhatsApp on iOS uses a SQLite database to store your conversations. When you remove a conversation, the corresponding records are marked as deleted, but not purged from the database. So, while the database is encrypted, it is in theory possible to retrieve the deleted conversations. The only way to completely remove them is to uninstall WhatsApp.
See for example WhatsApp doesn’t delete your ‘deleted’ messages (which cites the source mentioned by Claude)

Re: Whatsapp
TX for the info.
The only Whatsapp I use is verbal, when I greet my colleagues at work in the morning saying, "Whats app!"

And that is no doubt recorded by Siri, and stored in Apple's big iCloud database...Rudi wrote:The only Whatsapp I use is verbal, when I greet my colleagues at work in the morning saying, "Whats app!"

Whew!!!! What a relief!
I never use "What's app?" preferring "whuzzup?" (Do you suppose Siri can understand that, in Texan?)

Unfortunately you're out of luck. Siri learns very quickly and it only takes a few simple sentences for 'her' to pick up accent and dialect!BobH wrote:(Do you suppose Siri can understand that, in Texan?)

Re: Whatsapp
So if you don't have whatsapp installed on your whachamacallit then there's no issue?

Re: Whatsapp
I you don't have WhatsApp on your whatchamacallit you don't have this particular problem.
But depending on whether it's an iOS whatchamacallit, Android whatchamacallit or Windows whatchamacallit, Apple, Google or Microsoft knows everything about you anyway...
