TV as monitor
I recently purchased a small (26") LCD HDTV for my den/office. It has a number of I/O connectors on the back, one of which is a VGA connector labeled 'PC Input'. The display adapter in my PC is an nVidia GeForce GT 220 based video card with VGA and DVI output connectors. The monitor on my PC is hooked up through the DVI port. Could I hook up the HDTV through the VGA port and use it as a secondary monitor in a two monitor setup? If so, are there any practical limits on the length of the VGA cable? Any caveats I should look out for?
Regards,
Paul

Re: TV as monitor
It depends on the quality of the video cable. Most video cables are 3 to 6 feet long, but with a properly shielded high-quality cable, 30 feet should not be a problem.
Best wishes,

Thanks, Hans. I don't think I need more than 4-5 m.

Re: TV as monitor
OK, it should work then - your video card can handle multiple monitors.
Best wishes,
