Hi,
There seems to be no option in Publisher 2010 and 2013 to switch linked object (linked to Excel data) to update manually like you can control in other apps. Ideally I would like to switch links to manual and then update only specific linked objects. But there is also no right click on the object and update link option. The only control one has seems to be when one opens the Publisher document and it prompts in the beginning to update links. Then one can say yes or no. My issue is I want to updaye specific objects and NOT others. Is there a way around this?

You can add the "Edit links to files" button to the Quick Access Toolbar or to a custom group on the ribbon. This command can be found in the "Commands Not in the Ribbon" list.
