(UK) Old phone disposal

Post by silverback »

I've found an old, 3G only, 'smartphone' in a drawer. What's the best way to dispose of this and what actions do I need to take before it's disposed of, please?
Thanks
Silverback

If it still works at all then I would do a factory reset to clear all my personal data, and then take it to the council recycling depot where they have a skip for e-Waste

What Stuart suggested, but why take it to the tip?
A women's or man's shelter probably houses someone who could use a telephone, even an old one. no?

I've only just replaced mine with a G32! (Only app on the new one is LibreView...)

Well Done that man! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:
I guess that if it dates from before the year dot, then it must surely date before the years dot-com?

If I knew what a Stellerium was, I'd be able definitively to say: No.
With my present state of ignorance, the answer would be: Not in my lifetime...

Correct, it's a 'no'. I'm surprised you even asked the question.

Perhaps but :innocent: would have worked had it been added to Graeme's question.
