I am using FF4 on 2 pc's, as both had been subjected to install, test and remove many programs, I decided to do a clean install on both.
Now they are both re loaded with the few programs I use, a rather puzzling issue has arisen on the laptop.
When an addon is added to FF, to install it requires restarting, after it restarts, it minimizes to the taskbar, to get it on screen I just move the cursor over it without clicking and it re appears on the desktop.
On my other pc it restarts how it is supposed to. It does not make any difference in what addon I try.

Re: FF Restarting
This is just a guess. Firefox stores details about the windows size and position in a file called localstore.rdf inside the profile folder. You can try deleting or renaming this file to see if it helps.
Open your profile folder, for details of how to find it see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Close Firefox
Delete or rename localstore.rdf
Restart Firefox to see if that fixes the problem.
That file also stores details of toolbar customizations, so you will need to re-apply any customizations that you have made.

Re: FF Restarting
Hi Tony, as I have just found your post, I'll explain what has been tried. I have Acronis 2010 which was used to make a system image after using its drive cleaner feature to USA's Dept of Defence specs then doing a clean install in which I only install updates, DirectX and of course Acronis. Under 7 days ago.
Therefore everything was brand new, so I restored to it and re installed my few programs (its a Laptop) and FF still goes minimized when restarting to install an addon.
Will try as you suggest and post back.
