When you Insert an Excel Worksheet into a slide using the Insert->Object->Create From File method it opens up an instance of Excel, inserts the worksheet and then leaves the Excel application open.
Is there any way to make PowerPoint close the Excel application automatically? I have Googled around but haven't found any answer.
Regards,
Kevin

I don't think that is possible (except perhaps by creating a PowerPoint add-in that monitors this behavior). Stupid bug!
Best wishes,
Hans

Thanks Hans, that's what I thought. I think I'll just click the RED X instead.
