Hello:
I read the very informative articles posted on this forum on how to hide error message KB5034441 (0x80070643). Rather than take any action now, I'm hoping Microsoft will deal with this in the near future. If not, then here is a concern:
When I do Windows update and it still creates a visible error on KB5034441, I don't care as long as this one error doesn't stop all the other patches from being applied. Is that correct?
Thanks,
Rich Locus

MS quote via Susan Bradley at the AskWoody Blog.....
Resolution: Automatic resolution of this issue --- won’t be available in a future Windows update ---. Manual steps are necessary to complete the installation of this update on devices which are experiencing this error.
["In other words, Redmond is not going to fix the problem. Instead, we must hide the update or take complicated (and potentially risky) manual steps to make the fix ourselves.
This patch should be installed only when you are worried about attackers’ being able to bypass BitLocker protection. If you do not have BitLocker enabled, as is the case for many users, there is no need for this patch..... Nor is it needed if you have no recovery partition"].

To repeat prior posts .... This patch should be installed only when you are worried about attackers’ being able to bypass BitLocker protection. If you do not have BitLocker enabled, as is the case for many users (including my sister), there is no need for this patch. Nor is it needed if you have no recovery partition.
Much appreciated. I was waiting for the patch but will now hide the update. I did not try the manual patching as there were too many possibilities of messing up my system. An 83 year old with bulky fingers does not need the aggravation!
UPDATE: I could not find the means to hide a Windows update on a forum here on Eileen's Lounge. However, further research on the web found the means to get the required tool WUSHOWHIDE.DIAGCAB at this Site
