Website images

Post by steveh »

Hi all

I can only assume that the insidious WIN10 sneaked in updates again last night because now I can not view the logo on some sites and no picture in any other. For example in Eileen's Lounge the banner shows but in Scuttlebut no pictures are showing

Cheers

As far as I know, there has been no update to Windows 10 since the 24th of July...

Check your internet connection. If it is slower than usual, images may not load.
Best wishes,
Hans

I am using edge, and at times the images here at Eileen's the attached images within a post are nothing but a gray area.
I have failed to report this as I was thinking I was the only one.

Are you using IE or Edge in Windows 10?

Edit: At this time all are working as they should.

I've seen that on occasion in Edge, but not in Internet Explorer, Firefox or Chrome.
I'd avoid Edge.

Is that for all attached images? I'm using Firefox and I'm not seeing the image in Bob's OP here:
http://www.eileenslounge.com/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=24911
but I can see the images in every other post I've looked at, suggesting the reason I can't see the one in Bob's post is because he's deleted the file.

I too assume that Bob deleted the uploaded image. (The link itself works OK for me)

That's odd, it works for me. What happens if you go to Scuttlebutt and click on Bob's thread titled 'My New Boat'. It's near the top as I type but it's an old thread revitalised by a new lounger (as an excuse to post a link that Hans instantly removed  )

It doesn't happen all the time: the screenshot below was made in Edge:

But I have seen those gray boxes in Edge on occasion; not in other browsers.

That was surprising. I tested again and the link still wouldn't load. It showed some plain text, as though a CSS or similar wasn't loading. I tried a few times with the same result, or sometimes with just a blank page as the result. I then navigated to the page from the Index and it opened fine, although the image has been replaced with just the filename. After that the link worked. Maybe there was a problem with my Firefox cache.
