Hi
Some of my reports don't print.
I can view the reports but when I select to print all I get is an empty page!
I can print the same report to a PDF doc ( PdfFactory) and they print ok.
Perhaps this is a setting somewhere but I don't know what to start looking for.
( The same happens with some xls docs too. )
A point in the right direction would be great.

Re: Reports Don't Print
First, check in the Page tab of File | Page Setup... that the correct printer has been set for the report. (You do have a default printer set up on your PC, do you? Many Office applications don't work correctly if there is no default printer.)
Also, check the page size and margins.

Hi Hans
I've checked all that and all is as it should be.
I still get the same problem, could there be a general office setting somewhere ?

I don't think there's an Office-wide setting.
Do you have another printer you can print to? If so, does it make a difference?

Re: Reports Don't Print
So the problem appears to be with one specific printer. Perhaps it ran out of toner?
But seriously, have you tried turning that printer off and on again? Can you print a test page from that printer?

Re: Reports Don't Print
Am I supposed to put paper in aswell !! lol !!
The printers fine Hans, it prints emails, images, pdf's, certain reports from office etc etc, just one or two reports gives blank sheets.
Check the print to file setting etc .. I'm stumped too.

Re: Reports Don't Print
If the problem reports print correctly to other printers but not to this one, while it prints other documents correctly, it's hard to say what the cause could be. You could experiment a bit with the page margins, the width of the report etc.
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: Reports Don't Print
I don't think it should show in the preview w/o having a printer assigned or default printer --
Wouldn't "printing to pdf" involve the same thing as printing to file -- that is, have you tried to physically print this on a different physical printer?
Also -- you have checked to see there is no code in the "on print" event of the report, have you (I can see some sneaky code, for fun).
Another biggie -- I used to have memory issues with convoluted reports, and -- it didn't stop all print jobs, but sections or objects got missed. That was a long time ago -- do you have an old report that is performing all kinds of calculations w/in the report? It could be computer or printer memory?
