Double dipping
For a while now, perhaps since the installation of 1511, I've noticed that my G disk appears twice in File Explorer. I think, but am not positive, that this is something new. Is this normal? The G disk is an external USB 3 HDD.

Re: Double dipping
I've noticed the same for USB drives; it doesn't seem to have negative effects.
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: Double dipping
This article shows how to "fix" the issue.
It involves modifying a single registry entry.
According to the comments section it seems to do the trick based on many confirmations.
As with doing anything in the registry, ensure you have a backup before doing any modifications.
ADDENDUM:
Just found this lengthy thread on the TenForums site.
Note: By default, all of your drives are listed separately in the navigation pane of File Explorer in addition to being listed under This PC.

Re: Double dipping
Thanks for the replies. Looks like this is a is-it-a-bug or is-it-a-feature issue. Solutions given in the links appear to work up until Microsoft issues new updates, then they get reset. I'm going to declare this a feature and move on.
