In my slides, I use a different color to emphasize important part of the body text (e.g., red as opposed to black for regular body text). I think it's a good way to draw the attention of the audience to the key concepts in the slide.
Unfortunately, they are not differentiated on print unless a color-printer is used, as all different colors are rendered in black in print if you are using a laser printer, regardless of whether you pick "color", "gray scale", or "black & white" in the PowerPoint print option.
Is there any good way to emphasize part of the body text that will be easily visible not only screen but also on print?
Print-friendly way to emphasize part of body text?

Or underline...
You could use a combination of red font and B,I or U. That way screen and print emphasis is immediately apparent.

Or you could use a larger font size, or a different font face
