Blank page for new tab instead of home page (IE10)

Post by steveh »

Morning all

I always have the new tab setting to open my first home page, but if I reboot my laptop it always resets it to a blank page, I have tried to search for an answer but can't seem to come up with anything. Has anybody else had this and resolved it?

Do you have AVG as anti-virus program? If so, it could be caused by the AVG toolbar. To disable the process it runs:

If you don't have it already, download WhatInStartup.
Run WhatInStartup.
If you see vProt.exe, select it and disable it.
Restart Windows, and set your tab preference in IE.
Best wishes,
Hans

It took me a couple of days to get back home and try it but all is well, thanks
