I have installed the same 3 XP updates 4 times since yesterday because of the "Automatic Update Icon" showing up in the systray. One time I went manually to Microsoft's update site, ran the 3 updates, it showed they had successfully installed but the "Automatic Update Icon" still showed they needed installed. I returned to Microsoft's update site checked for updates again and sure enough the same 3 updates once more showed they needed to be installed. Any ideas what is happening and how to get this to stop?
Thanks.

Re: Automatic Updates for XP
This is a known problem. Several of the updates in the September 10, 2013 batch are faulty.
You can hide the updates at the Microsoft Update website - they won't be offered again.

Re: Automatic Updates for XP
Sorry I didn't see that before I posted but to be honest I only looked under the XP OS section.
