Reporting in with the good news that yes, I still remember how to set up a task schedule. Chris' command script shut down and restarted the computer without any flaws. Now if I could get the computer to shut down like it did and then wait for 7 or 8 hours before it started again, that would be perfect!
It is too late now for one more cause I got to get some time!

I was looking at the BIOS on a Dell Latitude laptop today, and I noticed that it has an option to automatically start at a specified time.

Re: Automatic start up of Win 11 PC?
Hi StuartR - I found a similar page in BIOS and have set it up. Now to see if my computer is actually on, when I want it to be. I didn't get a screen capture since I wasn't sure how to do that while in the BIOS. If it doesn't work, I'll use my phone camera and take a pic so you can see what I tried to do.
Anyway, tomorrow will tell the tale!
Thanks for the info. I always appreciate the excellent help.

Years ago, a kind mentor here advised me to turn off Automatic Flash when taking a digital camera image from the BIOS screen. Avoids that awful glare-back.Skitterbug wrote: ↑15 Sep 2022, 03:24... I'll use my phone camera and take a pic so you can see what I tried to do.

Re: Automatic start up of Win 11 PC?
Hi StuartR - It worked! At least it did this morning. It took me to my log on screen. I don't usually dig around in BIOS because I am leery of changing something by accident and messing up the entire system. But for me, this is definitely worth the risk!
Thanks for the help!

I'm amazed that this has ended in a positive result. Perseverance certainly pays off.

In this case, it certainly seems so.
