Getting rid of a laptop

The BBC here in the UK is asking people to donate laptops to help with home schooling during the latest lockdown.
We're thinking of donating our old laptop (runs Windows 10)
How should we go about making sure it's cleaned of all personal data, so it's suitable to pass on, please?

Thanks. I was worried that the disc area used to contain personal files would be recoverable (by a determined person) but I see from your link that there's an option to clean the drive. This is ideal, thanks.

At the risk of sounding political - not my intention - have you considered bitbleach?

BleachBit does not remove user information. Nor does it provide a clean, new registry.
