Are you absolutely sure that you have turned off notifications of replies in Edit posting defaults and also in Edit notification options?

Hello Hans, I have never been in my 'User Control Panel' for months except for today when I changed the red coloured print in my signature to BOLD.

So 'Notify me upon replies by default' is set to Yes. That's why you receive notifications.
If you don't want that, set it to No and click Submit.
Best wishes,
Hans

It will stop notifications of replies to your posts.
Whether you receive notifications for other stuff such as private messages, depends on the settings in 'Edit notification options'.
Best wishes,
Hans

Doesn't that defeat the object of The Lounge?

The combined settings give you granular control over which notifications you want to receive...

Only if your intention is to never visit the Lounge unless you get a notification!

As a general rule, I would tend not to rely on EMail notifications to heavily. It seems to occur increasingly often in forums in recent years that they don’t work reliably. I think Han’s mentioned that generally notifications are not as reliable in the updated Lounge forum version. ( I still receive no Email notifications from Eileen’s Lounge since the new updated Lounge forum version. ( All my settings are for Email Notifications) But, Not a problem for me , as I pop by frequently, and the notifications up there at the top in a red background circle , - they do work for me )
