Image Resizer for Windows

Post by RonH »

I have been revisiting resize options and came across this again ...
https://www.bricelam.net/ImageResizer/

Its a long time since I used this ... having used such as Photoshop/GIMP etc for image editing and multiple file resizing to upload my 'ladies' album pictures to the printing house.
But checking, it seems to be the fastest/easiest to use for batch image resizing only.
Any known issues by forum members using this?

Can't offer any comments on that one but you might want to look at RIOT:
https://riot-optimizer.com/
It has batch capabilities but I've only ever used it as a plugin to IrfanView, to resize my DSLR images, which are many MBs, to less than The Lounge 256KB upload limit. Despite the huge reduction in file size I'm always impressed by the end result.

Thanks for input Ken ... will take a looksee.

I just tested 'Image Resizer for Windows' against a batch of nearly 800 images, mostly 4000x3000 pixel, reduced then to 1366x. The complete batch was finished in under 20 secs and the end result compared with such as GIMP. on file size etc. This is one very simple and super fast dll that has been around for many years. No frills, just resize. I don't resharpen because the image printer we upload to applies a minor sharp when printing. The pics for 'my lady' are only print size 10x13/15 which she uses in her albums so sharpening is not a real issue at this size ... plus mostly they can only be described as 'snaps' during holidays etc.
(Loved your B/W image you posted the other day)

In which case you've probably answered your own question and you don't need to look elsewhere after all :grin:

you can resize photos using Microsoft Picture manager https://youtu.be/7ZJnGlKKjow" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
if you are using windows 10, you have to download and install it manually https://youtu.be/w7AOQdbJ9Ro" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

i hope this helps

Thanks for link.
Will stay with the one I mentioned, at least for now. It is very simple and super effective for this single purpose.
