Not sure where to post this, so Admins, please feel free to move.
I have an old Google site with a https://sites.google.com/site/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; address. I seem to recall Google stating that it would be removing certain "deprecated" material/ access and I'm not sure if this is included. I want to keep the material and wondering if there is any way to download the site content.

Re: Downloading a Google site
I am afraid you won't be able to download a site created by the google classic site. At a certain point old sites will remain but as read only. You can use the new google sites and replicate your old site. The new google site is a more modern responsive web design which is easier as drag and drop and integration with most google apps. The new google site will eventually have some of the useful classic google site feature. Right now it is good enough to create full website with enough artistic imagination.
Here's an updated roadmap for classic and New Google Sites
To create a new google site you have to log in to your google drive, much like creating a google docs. From google drive click the New button and navigate deeper to more and look for Google Sites.
You may want to read this to get started.

Re: Downloading a Google site
Thanks guys. I had a sudden brainwave and decided to try my old reliable WinHTTrack. Not only did it download the site perfectly, but it also managed to bypass any security/ sign-in requirements. Problem solved!

I have moved this thread to the Web Development forum; that seemed the most appropriate place for it.
