Windows 10 free download
Is there still a free download from Windows 7 to Windows 10

I have an old laptop with Windows 7 and was hoping the free Windows 10 download was still available

How about Win 8.0?
I had a laptop I acquired specifically to create a family video, but after the trip to share it, that laptop was set aside. Needs an overhaul now to get rid of the dreaded 8.0.

Re: Windows 10 free download
You'd have to install Windows 8.1 first; there is no direct path from 8.0 to 10.

Re: Windows 10 free download
I’ve done this recently, last month. Clean install windows 10 and use my win7 keys.
It worked for me. No messy upgrade to 8.1.
I also upgraded the computer memory to at least 8 GB and HD to SSD knowing it is still compatible to Win10.
You may opt for this option just a thought.

You only need to upgrade to Win 8.1 if you are running Win 8.0. You can upgrade directly from Win 7 to Win 10.jolas wrote: ↑27 Jan 2022, 21:59I’ve done this recently, last month. Clean install windows 10 and use my win7 keys.

Re: Windows 10 free download
I run Win 11 Pro on my main PC. It is fine. Not a big change. A few things to get used to.
I also run the current Insider Dev Channel Win 11 build in a VM on the same machine. Since Microsoft has decoupled the Dev Channel from the next release I decided to put it in a VM. I used to run the Dev Channel builds as my main OS. Never had a problem that was not self-induced.
