I have encountered a challenge when starting Windows 10. There is a blue screen with a message stating "Getting Windows Ready...Don't turn off your computer". I have left the computer run for over 2 hours waiting on Windows 10 to finally boot up but it never does.
How does one troubleshoot this? I have tried getting to SafeMode (F-8) but it appears this has changed in Windows 10.
Your thoughts are appreciated.

Re: SafeMode
Is the circle still moving? If so, I'd wait a bit longer. If not, or if this situation persists, try a power reboot - see Method 2 in How to Fix 'Getting Windows Ready, Don't Turn off Your Computer'.
Best wishes,
Hans

Hans,
I tried Method 2 - power reboot and the challenge still persists. The circle is moving along with the posted message. I'll let it try to resolve itself but in the mean time if you have any further advice that would be great.

Good link Hans, thanks.
I have not tried the System Restore as this would be me last resort. I'll try creating Win 10 boot from a USB stick.
Are we having fun yet?

Re: SafeMode
Hans/Claude,
I was able to resolve the blue screen with a message stating "Getting Windows Ready...Don't turn off your computer".
I forced Windows 10 to fail upon startup three times by pressing the power button off on each consecutive startup. There is a built in feature which forces Windows 10 to boot to an Automatic Repair mode. Click on the "Advance Option" button.
And then select the Startup Repair option and continue to follow the prompts.
