I agree, Paul. This is going to lead to hacking the OS becoming a much more popular 0 and I fear, common - pastime breeding more of the ilk that has done their best to pollute the Internet. I think this brings shame to MS.

This in your face bit, is making my do not visit list longer daily.

There are excellent free tools that let you finetune Windows 10, for example disabling Cortana and disabling advertising if you so wish. Two that have been mentioned in this forum are Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4 for Windows 10 and O&O Shutup10. I have been using the latter, and I've yet to see an advertisement or "Windows tip" in Windows 10 (I upgraded 365 days ago). I'm sure these and other tools will be updated to handle the Anniversary Update.

While I agree that Microsoft should be much more open about what data they collect, and should provide clearer and easier control over these features within Windows itself, it doesn't help throwing around terms such as 'crapware'. And Microsoft isn't worse than for example Google, let alone Facebook, both of which are willingly used by a huge number of people...
Best wishes,
Hans
