I have 3 unwanted desktop icons. "Creative Cloud Files"; "OneDrive" and "Dropbox"
I have tried all the usual without success. I have also tried 'Unlocker' (a brilliant piece of programming), also without success.
I have already asked on the Lounge about Creative Cloud, so let's not waste time on that one. But maybe some Lounger will know how to remove the other 2.More unwanted desktop icons

Re: More unwanted desktop icons
Do you want to see desktop icons at all? If not:
- Right-click an empty part of the desktop.
- Click on View.
- 'Desktop icons' in the submenu should be ticked; click it to remove the check box.
Now ALL your desktop icons will be hidden.

Re: More unwanted desktop icons
I don't have Win10 (yet) so I cannot advise on actually deleting them, but as a temporary fix, create a Miscellaneous folder and drag the unwanted icons into that...(a bit of spring cleaning as per sê)

Do you use these cloud drives?
If NOT, then uninstall the linking programs.

What happens if you right click the icon and select "delete"?

Re: More unwanted desktop icons
Rudi, just clarifying; the icons will of course drag - just won't drag into a folder.
Dave, I don't use Creative Cloud Files, but Adopy won't let me delete it because I "still have programs that use it". I assume they mean Photoshop CC. Grrr!
Joe, that was the first thing I tried. I even tried 'Unlocker' on them - 'Unlocker' has NEVER failed me. Just had it's perfect record ruined!
I just searched my C: drive for "*Creative Cloud Files*". Found an Adopy folder in 'Users' called CoreSync. I deleted that, re-started - no dice still have that ridiculous folder staring at me. Grrr again.
