SPRINT ANDROID 4.1.2 (Solved)

Post by Michael Abrams »

I am hoping I can get a fix for this issue - Sprint was totally useless.

I have a ANDROID 4.1.2 phone - SOFTWARE VERSION – LS970ZVC

Randomly (usually when on a call, or turning the backlight on) - I receive a message on screen:

!EMPTY TAG

THIS TAG CONTAINS NO INFORMATION

It only offers an OK button. This happens randomly, and sometimes repeatedly.

Can anyone guide me to what setting I need to update or fix?

Like I said, Sprint had no clue.

Thanks for any direction.

MIchael

Google turned up one link, but it wasn't very useful. There was one recommendation to restore the phone to factory settings, but that would delete all your data...
Best wishes,
Hans

Thanks HansV - that sucks, but I do not want to reset to factory.

Terrible that it is my only option with no fix.

I appreciate you looking !

You might join an Android forum and ask there. I'm not familiar with Android, perhaps other Loungers will have a recommendation for a suitable forum.
Best wishes,
Hans

There is a setting called NFC. It was accidentally turned on - when I turned it off, the pop up stopped.

A forum called "Android Central" gave me the "clue".
