Hello.
I have created a partition (F: boot). How can I make it boot to this partition please? (This is a little outside my normal area!)
What I need to achieve is to cause it to boot here, then run a small script, probably a batch file, to give a list of choices for running Norton Ghost images for, Office 2007, Office 2010, etc.. about five choices. I presume I can create the menu from an autoexec.bat file?
(I know that Norton Ghost is no longer supported..)
Any help or suggestions will be appreciated. Andy

First of all what Operating System do you have on the "F Drive"?

Re: Boot from partition
Hello. There is no OS on the F: drive. Norton Ghost images with Windows and Office versions are on the D: drive. I only want the F: drive to hold a batch file which allows the user to select which Office version they want. This would then trigger the load of the correct image from the D: drive.

Then you do not want it to boot to the F drive, but to run a batch file on start up Windows.
But the installed images on the F drive would need to include an OS so that the correct registry entries are available to the different versions of Office. Then it would require a restart then you would be chasing your own tail.

Re: Boot from partition
In my previous company the tech guy has a Symantec Ghost bootable stiffie that he used to boot up any PC with and then in command prompt he could access a network drive and select from various images to rewrite the hard drive. So the questions here are:
1. Do you have a bootable flash drive created via Norton Ghost to boot a computer into?
2. Do you have access to a network to store the images? (Alternative, store the images on an external hard drive and point the command prompt to this drive for the rewrite.)
