If you were building a new home and cost were not an issue, what wiring/cabling would you put in for Internet access? I think the last time I checked the recommendation was for cat6x, but I was thinking that fiber might be a better option. Of course, I know nothing about network cabling.
There is also the option of relying on wifi for all connectivity from the router, but occasionally I run into a situation where there is no wifi card in a device which makes me think that cable in the walls for every room would be a nearly fail-safe option.

Bob: if you look here you will find ethernet cabling all the way from Cat 5e, through 6, 6a, 7, 8, up to Cat 8.1, in a variety of configurations and cover colours!
