I suspect most of us will need to beware of this problem:
Windows Server 2008 R2 cannot be installed or started on a computer that has 1 TB or more of RAM

And just as I was about to hit the 'buy now' button for 1,015 GB more RAM...
Do they really make MBs that will support that much memory?

Sure.... doesn't everyone have a MB with 64 RAM slots?PaulB wrote:And just as I was about to hit the 'buy now' button for 1,015 GB more RAM...

You install 1 terabyte or more of memory on a computer. For example, assume that you have 64 memory slots and that each slot has 16 gigabytes (GB) of RAM.

Re: Problem with Windows Server 2008 R2 and lots of RAM
I suspect it is an experimental internal Microsoft server, and they've had to point out this problem for the very few companies who could afford £30K-worth of DRAM (say!) and would be able to make use of it. One of our work servers has 16 RAM slots, so 64 isn't really that far off.
