Today, because I didn't have my camera with me, I saw, for the first time, a Kingsfisher sitting on a branch only a few metres from me (all my previous sightings have been of a Kingfisher in flight, disappearing at rapid rate into the distance). It then dived into the water and resurfaced with fish in its beak and flew off, at high speed, upstream.
So, please visualise a picture of a small bird with relatively long beak, vivid turquoise feathers on its back and bright orange feathers on its belly perched on a branch overhanging a canal.

Would this help with the imagery?
