Sparrow Hawk

Post by Graeme »

A Sparrow Hawk landed in our back garden today. I don't think the Dove saw him coming!

The dove wouldn't have seen it coming, sparrow hawks are quick.

We've not seen a sparrow hawk in our garden for a while but we have seen similar piles of feathers on the lawn in the morning on more than one occasion recently so we know they are still about.

A nice catch. By which I mean the photo, not just the sparrowhawk.

I'm impressed that you have a daytime life as well as your extensive nighttime activities.

I thought you were more of a night owl than a sparrowhawk.

If only! Unfortunately my night time activities have ground to a standstill since the current wave of storms from across the Atlantic started. I had a go at Jupiter last week to get some practice in before he comes to opposition, the best time of year to capture a Jovian image. But I haven't managed anything worth posting yet.
