Christmas is coming

Post by stuck »

Today we again visited Fountains Abbey. Our excuse, as if we needed an excuse, was that some of our friends, as members of a York choir, would be singing Christmas carols in the cellarium in the afternoon:

The walk back to the car allowed me to grab a couple of panorama shots:

Lovely photographs, Ken! Thank you!

Can you describe the acoustics of the place for us?

One more picture. The choir didn't sing 'The Twelve Days of Christmas' but the swans still did their bit.

Is it just me or did anyone else see hooded people in the cellarium and think there were monks in the crowd?

Terrible English, I know, but I am a bit strapped for time ...
PJ, you did see hooded people in the crowd and they might have been monks, but they weren't. so it's not you"
Just be thankful no-on was in PJs!
Cheers, Chris

Yes, it was blimmin' cold in there, so if someone had a hood on their coat / jacket it was up!
