Hi Ken, I took a quick butcher's but am not impressed.
Cheers, Chris

I'm not surprised. The shot I was after was this one.

I remain unimpressed. Maybe because last night's 142 Km/h knocked out our power, and when power was restored, it appears as if it burnt out my 2,000W baseboard heater in the kitchen. Since I am in the middle of making Green Tomato Chutney and bottling three to six jars of Pumpkin Pulp each day, my kitchen is a shambles. It will get worse if I reason that today might be a good day to empty the 'fridge and give it a wipe-down, although that isn't really due for another six years.
Maybe an Earl Grey will help.
Cheers, Chris

Here is some compostable cling film for you. Don't lose it.

I'd offer to send you some fudge from the fudge shop but when the shops on the Shambles are open you can't get anywhere near any of the shops. Imagine the street full of people, shoulder to shoulder, plus a queue from behind where I was standing to take this photo that stretches back into the distance. Locals only ever go near the Shambles when everything is closed.

I suppose such details don't help you either?

Er.
Thanks Hans.
I think.

But obviously I am not thinking hard enough.
I don't use cling film, choosing instead to store cooked foods in my mouth and gut.
I could print your image onto paper, which I know is digested in my tower vermicomposter, but then I haven't had a printer for Lo! these eleven years.

The second one is fab!
The first one too because it makes me wonder what I could do with it, my fingers are itching to throw it at Photoshop 😹

In the second picture, I'm puzzled by the top of the convector electric heater near the bottom middle, in the gutter...

Hi Ken. Last time I looked Roly's of Shambles took orders online and shipped world-wide.
But regardless, you probably have a Roly's near you, so you could just stroll in any time, now that you are retired.

What didn't you understand about Dowtown Toronto?

I suppose such details don't help you either?
Au contraire, mon capitaine. These details encouraged me to do some of your homework for me.

When Roly's asks you for my shipping address, send them here.

Just don't refer to me as "that fudge guy", OK?
Cheers, Chris

I exaggerated it a bit but that was also to test something: the image is so good, there is hardly any noise in it at least not in the one I could capture.

You mean the reflection of a window in a puddle?

Not bad given you are working on the 256 KB Lounge upload limit version of the >10 MB JPEG file that comes straight out of my camera.

There is noise in the picture but my camera is a Canon 90D, which isn't a pro level model but is at the top end of Canon's amateur range, so it's not too bad even though the camera was set at ISO 3200. There will be even less noise in the second picture because that one was created from the RAW file using DxO PhotoLab and it's 'DeepPrime' noise reduction algorithm.

Surely the circled portion isn't a reflection . . .

Yes, it's a reflection, though maybe not of a window.

edited because it is a reflection of a window

If you draw a line directly above the reflection, you can see what is reflected!

I suspect that it is the vent from a Roman hypocaust, the original under-floor heating.
The Shambles is officially historic.
