Not when the cows graze on solid rock!

I have had all sorts of salted beef. It appears in every plate that Kerry sends across the street with David, and I bought some in my first year here to make Jiggs Dinner.
Like Salt Cod, Salt Beef is easily used as long as you start soaking it overnight and rinsing it the next morning a few months before you plan on using it. Please see also Brussel Sprouts.

I suspect that locally that "beef navel" translates effectively as "beef belly", as in "futures for pork bellies"

It just so happens that I have been cleaning my stock of lids this past week, and three typical lids are shown above.

Here is a stack of lids - looks like a red pail with a thick lid, but is about three dozen lids.
The lids arrive on empty pots/tubs dropped at my door in exchange for apple trees, pear trees etc.
I look like producing 1,000+ fruit trees next spring, but that's for another topic in the Gardening Forum :cranky:

lucky for you, Leif, I know a bit of French!
if you do nothing with raw beef, it starts to rot, becomes what you might call Dirty, or sale.
But once you overdose it with salt, it becomes salé.

Please see also Corned Beef :munch:
Cheers, Chris

You need to review the meanings of your prepositions, Chris.

The questions was 'cured of' not 'cured with.'

1. I think that it was Leif who was the questionable one in this usage
2. I wouldn't normally correct grammar - except where the person is correcting somebody else's grammar ;-)

But Geoff, do you think that either Leif OR Bob, let alone both, can be cured of bad grammar?
