One overcast day in Moscow

Post by AlanMiller »

... Rudi was looking out the window of his apartment. He turned to his wife and said, "Comrade darling Lydia, it will be raining very shortly." His wife looked out the window and said, "No Rudi. Those are just light clouds. They will not bring rain." In a few minutes time, the rain was pouring down. Lydia asked, "Comrade sweetie Rudi, how is it you knew?" Rudi replied, "Rudolf the red knows rain, dear."

Presumably Rudi has translated his final sentence from the original Russian?

You may be a tad early with that one, Alan. Please be sure to re-post this in mid December (or not...).

Obviously... but something was gained in the translation.

Paddy was waiting at the bus stop with his mate when a lorry went by loaded up with rolls of turf.

Paddy said, 'I gonna do that when I win lottery'

'What's dat'?, says his mate.

'Send me lawn away to be cut'.
Cheers, Claude.

Easier to just lay the turf upside down and be done with it, surely.

BTW, are you actually a toasted cheese affectionaodo? If so, we should swap recipes on a cooking thread.
