Gravity-powered aerial ropeway in Lancashire

Post by John Gray »

A chap called Tom Scott does a series of well-narrated videos about quirky subjects.
Here's one which Lounging-persons might find of interest!

Thanks John.
Give a man enough rope and he'll sheepshank himself.
This is a popular video on various railway modeler's forums, and that reminds me that it is time for me to drag my gravity-powered funicular out of the guest room and put in some more work on it. I have done nothing since Thursday, June 03, 2021, and now there are all of Bruce Yeany's videos to check out. There's even some dandy mathematics in there!
Sigh

Thanks John. Gravity feed, a bit similar to the 'water tank' lift operations. Pity that they still need coal to fire up the brick's.

If only there were more mines with the entrance uphill from their destination.

What? You mean like John Garaty's Corrimal Colliery?
Geoff, you should recognize some of the escarpment in his blog.
