Hans,

Are you sure it isn’t a green locust?

John

I had to look it up - the words grasshopper and locust translate to the same word in Dutch, and according to Wikipedia locusts are a subspecies of grasshoppers. So I'll stick with grasshopper.
Best wishes,
Hans

You know, Hans, you could have saved an awful lot of needless commentary if you had named the image "red herring.jpg".

Hi Hans.
There is another shot of "this little fellow" in https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-08-08/ ... /100353722, sixth and eighth images down the page at the time of this writing.
Cheers

Try my technique: When I spot one of those little white cabbage-moths trying to lay eggs on my parsnip leaves, I race into my shed, grab a can of leaf-green spray paint, and then chase the little mother around the yard - greenwashing it is called - until she lies quite still. The only problem now is trying to get the colour-scale right so that she shows up in contrast against the dandelion leaves.
I have found that acetate from a jar that David brought back from his workplace in St John's is quite effective at removing stray spray paint from the dandelion leaves, followed by a soak in dish-washing detergent-laced water before rinsing can become a regular part of preparation for lunch. :munch:
Cheers
Chris
