It was fantastic. I still have the T-shirt.

Kim! Here's a :chocciebar: and :wine: offered with the utmost shame and greatest abasement at having TWICE gotten your name wrong. Mea Culpa, mea culpa, MEA MAXIMA CULPA!

Having once imprinted my meager amount of gray matter with your name incorrectly, it seems that my old gray cells refuse to accept the change.

Please forgive me!!!!

With all this confusion I wouldn't want to see the portrait that Michelangelo (or is that Michael Angelo?) paints of you Kim , or K or Karen.

Maybe something like this, depending on how much :wine: :wine: :wine: Mr Angelo had himself. (And calling you Ruudy was just ruude!)

Alter ego?! Nope.

Her name is Rubi...

While in New York for a wedding this past weekend, I came across a snack that combines your two favorite delicacies, Rudi.

Take a short salted pretzel tube, stuff it with caramel and voila, something that works amazingly well. Er... assuming, of course, you're into that kind of thing.

Hey Paul, I'd actually be willing to try that!!! Though it is salt and sweet combined, my mind can wrap around this easier than that salted caramel ice cream. Coming to think of it, I actually like the dubbel zout liquorice drops that Hans should be familiar to.

On this side of the world we have caramel sticks; a pretzel stick that is dipped in caramel (about 4/5ths of the stick). The pretzel is not salted though.

Salt and sweet are complementary flavors that, for the most part, pair together quite well.

Have you never salted a fresh, sweet, crisp apple? . . . or slice of cold watermelon?

Huh! I have never tried either of those, so I'll have to put them on my list of summer treats.
I do love cold watermelon chunks with strawberries. Caramel with sea salt right up there too. :yum: :yep:

I have tried it with apples (but not with melon). I must admit that I wouldn't do it under normal circumstances. I'll keep the two apart; salt for my savouries and the sugar for my desserts.

What an interesting turn we pedants have taken in this thread. So I'll throw in my favorite sweet and salty.

When I make apple pie, I've been known to serve it while still warm with a thin slice of cheddar cheese -- just under the top crust if it's not too fragile -- let it melt a little. Superb!

Perhaps you've heard the old saying: "Apple pie without the cheese is like a kiss without the squeeze."
