Using the Performance Information and Tools applet of Control Panel, I see that my graphics card has 1024 MB of dedicated on-board memory and uses 3071 MB of shared system memory. I'm curious as to how this latter figure is determined. Do I have any control over it? If so, how? (Windows7, 64-bit)

Re: Graphics Memory
See Disable or turn off Shared System Memory for information. Also, see the download link at disabling shared system memory - Vista-General-Discussion - Windows-Vista (even though it talks about Vista it is probably applicable to Win7 too).

Re: Graphics Memory
Thanks, Joe. I'll check out my BIOS to see if there are any settings there that affect shared memory. Strange that there does not appear to be any settings in the OS to control this.

Paul
