I do not want Ccleaner to start automatically when I turn the machine on. I was always able to turn that off in its settings but I can no longer find that option. I can exit it by choosing that option when clicking on it in the systray but how can I stop it from starting up automatically? Please see the attachments. The first attachment is what I see after clicking on options in the systray and the second attachment is what I see when choosing settings within Ccleaner. Unless I am just plainly missing it, I don't see anywhere to tell Ccleaner to not load on start up. In the first attachment could the option, "Enable smart cleaning" be what is loading it?
Thanks

It's worth a try.
You can also do this:
- Click the Start button or press the Windows key.
- Click Settings.
- Click Apps.
- Click Startup.
- If CCleaner is listed, set its switch to Off.

You can also get a (possibly more comprehensive) list of 'Startup apps' in the appropriate tab of Task Manager, which also shows the 'Start-up impact'.

Thanks for the information. Not sure what Start-up impact means but if I can disable it there or where Hans suggests, I'll do it.

Do you have anything selected in the Cleaning Schedule tab?

Re: Ccleaner Starting On Boot Up
No but unchecking that the "Enable smart cleaning" did the trick. Also please see the attachment to see what I found out about how the WEB said to disable it from starting automatically.

Re: Ccleaner Starting On Boot Up
Well Ccleaner is back and starting up when the computer boots up. I have checked everything and all settings seem to be set correctly. I do not find anything in Ccleaner's options telling it to start up automatically and Smart Cleaning is still not checked in its settings either. In the attachment you will see it is still disabled in the Task Manager. However, in Autoruns64.exe I find instances of it on its Scheduled Tasks Tab. I think it would be safe for me to uncheck those but I'm not sure. Also, I found on Autoruns64.exe's Everything Tab it shows Ccleaner's Smart Clean is enabled. Please see the second attachment. Again, I think I can safely uncheck that too but looking for confirmation.

Re: Ccleaner Starting On Boot Up
Yes, you can safely clear those check boxes.
But the 'CCleaner Crash Reporting' one will be turned on again automatically the next time you update CCleaner.

Re: Ccleaner Starting On Boot Up
Thank you.
Would that cause Ccleaner to start automatically when the machine is booted?
It's strange that this only seems to happen on one of my machines and not the others.

Re: Ccleaner Starting On Boot Up
No, 'CCleaner Crash Reporting' is a service that runs in the background. If CCleaner crashes, it sends information about that crash to the developer.
But it does not make CCleaner itself start automatically.

Re: Ccleaner Starting On Boot Up
I'm pretty sure it is the entry under HKCU\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run that is causing it to run. I would guess that entry is generated as part of the installation process and there is a bug causing the install to ignore prior settings. Regardless of what the settings say in the program if that registry entry is active, the program will be launched when a user is logged in.
