Image collections

Post by agibsonsw »

Wasbits Freeware Lists
or http://tinyurl.com/y9jcds9 for short.

Hello.
Anyone know where I can obtain a collection of images (gifs, jpegs, png's, etc.)? When searching I'm only finding sights for individual download, whereas I'm just looking
for a collection of sample images. Thanks, Andy.

A Google or Bing image search will by its nature return individual images - search engines can't look inside zip files, for example.

Also, I think zipped image collections may have been more popular in the past - when most people had dial-up internet access, it made sense to download a zip file, then study the contents on their own computer. Now that most people have broadband, they just search each time they need an image.
Best wishes,
Hans

Andy, I have moved your post to a separate thread since it's a new subject.
Best wishes,
Hans

I loved the caveat under the licencing terms for the Morgue File:

    >> This is a human-readable summary of the Legal Code (the full license)

Even though I'm fluent in legalese, it's nice not to have to wade through all the CYA language.
