Re: No more "12345"
They will have to ban "54321" too...else people will just resort to that!

WHAT!
I can no longer use 12345 OR 54321?
Now I have to go around changing ALL of my passwords.

Re: No more "12345"
My biggest complaint about Microsofat password rules is that they do not allow one to paste in a password. I understand that there is some possibility (but I believe the probability to be very small) that a pasted password is not supplied by the account holder, but the use of really complex passwords requires a password generator which compels one to cut and paste or waste interminable time having to display the pw in the clear and type its combinations of upper and lowercase, numerals and special symbols and do it correctly without a typo. Such passwords are more likely to be typographically in error than the likelihood that the mere pasting act represent hacking attempts, IMO.
I'd really like to see MS address this issue and their rationale for barring pasting into pw fields. There rule is a right pain in the arse.

Have a look at this site Bob. This works for Firefox and if you search, there are workarounds for almost any browser.

If you use Chrome, take a look at Paste password easily by removing password paste blocking on Google chrome - just don't mention the name of the extensionBobH wrote:... they do not allow one to paste in a password.
Alternatively, I think most Password Managers will 'fill and submit' - my RoboForm certainly does.

Thank you, John and Leif!
That seems to have fixed my problem with pw's.
I'm going to have to investigate RoboForm a bit more.

Re: password 12345
For those who don't know "12345" was the password for the trapdoor that holds in the air on this earth.
It was revealed in the move "Spaceballs"

That revelation may have motivated Microsoft to eventually ban it.
