Strange because this . . .
is what my T-Bird shows. I haven't tried the link, but apparently the download is not yet on the distribution channel for everyone. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: Update: Thunderbird 45.0 released
Mozilla usually activates the internal update mechanism when a new version is released, then throttles it after a few days, in order to spread the load on the update servers.

Don't rush in to update TB to ver.45. ( I had 38.7.2 )BobH wrote:Strange because this . . .is what my T-Bird shows. I haven't tried the link, but apparently the download is not yet on the distribution channel for everyone.
I just now dutifully did same and with the way my luck has been running, it bombed out. Lost some of my add-ons, even though it said they were OK. Tabs were locked in place. Could not single click with the mouse. Other miscellaneous crap.
I reverted back to the older version and all is well with the world again.
I'll wait for 45.xx to come out.

Works great for me. A very seamless transition.

I downloaded the new version from the link Hans posted and it installed and ran fine. No problems yet.

Re: Update: Thunderbird 45.0 released
Since upgrading I can only Receive; I cannot Send. I need, for a start, to check if the upgrade has changed the SMTP configuration required by my ISP.
Edited, 20/04, to note that SMTP configuration is unchanged!
Edited, 21/04, to update. I reverted to my previous version of Thunderbird, 38.7.2 and the Send function was re-enabled. Thunderbird automatically downloaded the version 45.0 installation file again which was installed on restarting and this time the Send function was retained.
All's well that ends well!

Re: Update: Thunderbird 45.0 released
I again tried to install TB 45.0. Same results but I then ran TB in Safe Mode and with all add-ons disabled. Now it ran OK but of course was strictly bare bones. Started to enable the add-ons , one by one. until I hit one called Theme Font & Size Changer, that was causing the problems. Mozilla hadn't even posted an update for it but I went to the authors web site where he DID have a new version. DL it and installed it OK. So far all looks good for 45.0.

Re: Update: Thunderbird 45.0 released
This latest version has auto installed and seems OK.
But reading various comments about 'issues' with TBird makes me wonder if I did the right thing in quitting WLM 2012 which proved to be very reliable on my pc

At least in my case, the "issues" were rather minor and easily resolved.RonH wrote:This latest version has auto installed and seems OK.

The only wish I have, is that there were a better way to backup TB, instead of MozBackup. Suggestions appreciated.
