I run winxp and outlook 2003 both are completely up to date on fixes.
Yesterday I could not send messages - they just queued up. During a reboot, I got a message that thorconnwndclass would not shut down. I killed it and the reboot worked and evidently fixed the problem.
This morning I googled the thorconnwndclass and got several hits going as far back as 2005. Evidently this is a Mcafee module plugin to outlook. The only time I ever used Mcafee was because it was loaded by Dell on my XP box - I uninstalled it years ago.
There were a lot of conflicting stories / fixes mentioned.
Since this appears to be an old problem, I'm not sure why it just popped up on my machine.
Does any one know a true fix for this problem?
Thanks in advance
Tom

Re: thorconnwindclass problem
Can you find any references to thorconnwindclass in the Windows Registry? If so, I´d remove them.
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: thorconnwindclass problem
Is there a search one can use for the registry - or is a manual scan the only way to do it?

You can select Edit | Find... in Regedit.exe, and search for the term.

In Outlook: select Tools | Options...
Activate the Other tab.
Click Advanced Options...
Look at Add-ins Manager… and at COM Add-ins.
