I have my Gmail account set up in Outlook and have a challenge where the sent messages are not copied locally to the "Sent Items" folder. I do see them in the Gmail account.
My Outlook preference does have the checkbox marked to save messages to the "Sent Items" folder. I also did a repair of the application but that did not resolve the challenge.
It use to work and I think one of the updates may have upset the apple cart.
Your thoughts are appreciated.

Re: Sent Items Local Folder
Leif,
The Sent Items remain in the Gmail account under "Sent Mail". The local account use to have a copy of them which is stored in the PST file on my computer.

Re: Sent Items Local Folder
What do you mean by the 'Local Account'?
Where are you sending the emails from? Gmail on the web, or from Outlook?
Are you using POP3 or IMAP?

Re: Sent Items Local Folder
Leif,
The 'Local Account' is the PST file located on my computer. When setting up Outlook I created a 'Profile' which in turn created the PST file.
I'm sending emails from Outlook using my Gmail/IMAP account.

Re: Sent Items Local Folder
If you use IMAP, messages sent and received are stored locally in a .ost file, not in a .pst file. The name of the file will look like
yourname@gmail.com.ost
and its default location is in the folder
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook
AppData is hidden, so you need to show hidden files, folders and drives in File Explorer to see this folder.

Hans,
I see where the .ost file is stored. How would I go about viewing the files in the .ost file?

Re: Sent Items Local Folder
Do you display your Gmail account in the Folder Pane of Outlook?
If so, you're looking at your .ost file!

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Hans,
I do see the Gmail account folders in the pane.
I didn’t know it was the ost file contents.
Thank you

Re: Sent Items Local Folder
The .ost file is synchronized with your Gmail account every time you send/receive, whether manually or automatically.
Best wishes,
