Remember Single View in Outlook

Each time I enter my Mailbox, I go to View | Change View | Single. Then if I go to my Contacts or some other folder in Outlook and then back to my Inbox, my View is back to Compact rather than Single. I tried setting the Inbox to Single View, then X'ing out of Outlook and going back in, but the same result occurs; it defaults to Compact.

How can I get Outlook to remember my preference for Single View?

When you have problems with views in Outlook you can often fix them by staring outlook manually, including /cleanviews at the end of the command.
