Outlook 2013 and AOL Free E Mail Account

Dear Lounge:

I have an AOL free Web Mail Account and I have Outlook 2013 on WIN 10.

Does anyone know if you can get Outlook 2013 to connect to an AOL free e-mail accounts?

I found several articles on the WEB but when I follow the instructions provided Outlook will not connect to the AOL

If anyone knows a good link or post on how to get this done I would be most grateful if you could post a link.

Any assistance is most appreciated

The easiest way is to let Outlook try to figure it out; if that fails you have to set up the account manually.
How to set up an Internet email account in Outlook 2013 or 2016 provides detailed instructions, including the settings for incoming and outgoing mail in AOL.

Hans:

Many thanks. The link was most helpful. But the real issue is AOL mail implemented a new procedure for connecting to Desktop Outlook. In effect, AOL generated a new password. Then in Outlook 2013 I started a new account, put in the needed information as well as the newly provided password. Now Outlook is connected to the AOL account with no issues.
